You matter.

You matter.

No matter who you are. No matter who you’ve been. No matter what you believe.

You matter.

Just as you are, you are worthy of love, respect, and compassion.

You intrinsically — by sheer virtue of existing as a human being — have a dignity that no one can take from you.

Your life matters. Your voice matters. Your physical, emotional, and mental well-being matter.

You matter.

It’s okay to expect a base-line of human respect and human decency from others, no matter how their beliefs differ from yours. And you owe others that baseline of respect and decency, as well.

You may choose to allow harmful things in your life in the hope that good things will come, and that is your right to do so. But please know that you do not owe it to anyone to be their doormat or trash bin.

Be good to yourself. Be good to others. Expect good from others. Do no harm, but take no shit.

You — and they — are worth the effort.

You — and they — deserve nothing less.

You — and they — matter.
